This dissertation deals with different approaches for homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis concepts. Various combinations of metal and photoredox catalysis for catalytic electron transfer reactions and later on cascade reactions have been developed. Furthermore, immobilisation techniques were investigated in order to ensure recycling of precious photoredox catalysts for consecutive semi-batch and continuous flow reactor setups. Additionally, self-optimising reactor systems were succesfully designed for a variety of important reaction types, such as hydrogenation, condensation, and photo reactions.
